Welcome to Novel Sites Tours Limited. By booking a safari or travel service with us, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Our goal is to ensure you have a seamless, memorable, and safe experience in the “Pearl of Africa.”

1. Booking and Payment

  • Reservations: A booking is considered confirmed only after receipt of a deposit and a written confirmation from our reservations team.
  • Deposit Requirements: To secure your safari, a deposit (typically 30–50% of the total tour cost) is required at the time of booking.
  • Gorilla & Chimpanzee Permits: Because permits for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Kibale Forest are highly competitive and issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority (UWA), 100% payment for permits is required immediately upon booking to guarantee availability.
  • Final Payment: The remaining balance must be settled at least 30 days before the start of the safari, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing.

2. Cancellations & Refunds

We understand that plans change. However, as we prepay many of our service providers, the following cancellation fees apply:

  • 90+ Days before arrival: Full refund minus an administrative fee and non-refundable permit costs.
  • 60–89 Days before arrival: 25% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
  • 30–59 Days before arrival: 50% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
  • Less than 30 Days before arrival: 100% of the total tour cost is forfeited.
  • Permits: Please note that Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking permits are non-refundable by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, though they may sometimes be rescheduled based on UWA’s specific policies.

3. Itinerary Changes

  • Flexibility: While we strive to adhere to the provided itineraries (e.g., the 6-Day Chimpanzee Safari or 9-Day Uganda Safari), Novel Sites Tours Limited reserves the right to alter routes, accommodation, or transport should local conditions (weather, road closures, or safety) dictate.
  • Wildlife Sightings: While our guides are experts at tracking, sightings of specific animals (Lions, Leopards, Gorillas) cannot be 100% guaranteed as they are wild animals in their natural habitat.

4. Travel Insurance & Health

  • Insurance: It is a condition of booking that all guests have comprehensive travel insurance covering medical expenses, personal accident, and trip cancellation.
  • Health Requirements: Guests must be in good physical health for trekking activities. Please inform us of any medical conditions or dietary requirements (Vegetarian, Halal, Allergies) at the time of booking so we can coordinate with our partner lodges.
  • Documentation: It is the traveler’s responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport (at least 6 months validity) and a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate for entry into Uganda.

5. Liability

Novel Sites Tours Limited acts as an agent for hotels, lodges, and transport providers. While we vet all partners for quality, we are not liable for injury, damage, loss, or delay caused by the acts or defaults of any company or person engaged in conveying the passenger or carrying out the arrangements of the tour.

6. Use of Media

The company reserves the right to use any photographs or videos taken during the safari for marketing and promotional purposes on our website or social media. If you prefer not to be featured, please inform your guide at the start of the trip.

7. Governing Law

These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Ugandan courts.
